(Not A) Goodbye

Say Hello to Nota—the next stage of evolution for The Doe!

The Doe began as a solution. In 2019, I searched for a place online where creatives could authentically tell meaningful stories, free from fears of doxxing, job troubles or family conflict through anonymous publishing. In many ways, we have been successful: The necessity and desire for vetted, anonymous journalism has remained strong as marginalized voices continue to struggle elevating their voices.

However, over the years, we’ve recognized we cannot do this alone. The scope of the challenge to rebuild public trust in our publications, the voices they need to represent and a shared focus on civil discourse is too grand for one well-intentioned publication. To do more, we must grow and pivot.

Team Doe welcomes you to our new home, Nota. We’re building an ecosystem for journalists and media consumers alike, providing solutions that spark meaningful conversations and engagement across many topical perspectives. We are using technology to improve storytelling, bring journalism to the new web and return people to the center of publishing. We're integrating more nuance and interactivity to the way you consume media, while innovating on the way journalists are paid for their efforts, and we can't wait to show you what's in the works.

Thank you for being a part of The Doe's story. We've published over a thousand perspectives and have given writers a space to tell their stories anonymously. We're so grateful for the trust our community has put in us to represent these voices and grow in our service to journalists and the larger publishing community.

This is not goodbye. We’ll be back soon, and we know you’ll love what we come back with! There's a lot in store with Nota. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you'll stay on this journey with us.
